Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ordered to build the fort on the island of ‘Kurte’. On 25th November 1664, Maharaj laid down the beginning of the Sindhudurg fort. Construction of Sindhudurg fort was completed on 29th March 1667. After seeing the Sindhudurg Fort, turn straight towards the ‘Golden Ganesha’ temple. People can reach the temple in 15 to 20 minutes by walking from Malwan Jetty.
The clean, tranquil atmosphere of this simple temple and the beautiful idol of Gold Ganapati awakens our devotion. There is a ‘rock garden’ five minutes away from the Golden Ganesh Temple.
