Murud- Janjira Beach is a popular sand destination located in the Raigad quarter of the Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It’s positioned on an islet in the Arabian Sea, just off the seacoast of the city of Murud. The sand is known for its pristine white beach and stunning views of the Arabian Sea. 

 

The sand is girdled by a stronghold, which was formerly considered to be the strongest stronghold in India. The stronghold was erected in the 16th century by the Siddis of Janjira. It has an aggregate of 19 fortifications and is girdled by the ocean on all sides. The stronghold is still in excellent condition and is a great place to visit for those interested in history and armature. 

 

The sand itself is a beautiful place to relax and decompress. The white beach and demitasse clear waters make it a great spot for swimming and sunbathing. There are several small caffs and sand shanties along the sand, where one can enjoy some succulent seafood.
