Atmeshwar Tali and Temple is located in Sawantwadi. Atmeshwar Tali is a crystal clear water source, available for all 365 days of the year. It is overflowing from 10 feet, above soil level & the level has no connection with nearby other water sources like wells. There is an ancient temple called as Atmeshwar Temple of Lord Shiva. Atmeshwar Tali and Temple is said that stabbing Trishul on the ground Lord Shiva's Bhakta has created this fountain. It's a unique water tank where water flows above ground level. It gets filled up to the brim and overflows. Which enhances the beauty of Atmeshwar Mandir area which was built up in 1891. Atmeshwar Tali and Temple is also a unique example where two shiv-lings are placed in one temple. It is a grace of God to Sawantwadi and its citizens. An Amazing Well where water Overflows about 4 Ft. above Ground Level almost 365 days of the year. Atmeshwar Tali is a very unique place in itself. About 350 years ago, Shri. Damodar Swami created a pool which is now known as Atmeshwar Tali. Most of the places have their own folklore or legends. The story regarding this place is told like this. The erudite Swamiji threw his Trishul while enchanting mantra of "Jay Mate Bhagirathi (Ganga)". In the very place, a big stream of water appeared and it's flowing perpetually from that day. With the passage of time, this place too is affected by hasty and unmindful modernization.
